My First Vacation in ‘Pinas’-Day 4

Day 4 (March 28-Monday)

I woke up at 8AM and had my power-up breakfast of puto calasiao from Pangasinan, Jimm’s coffee 7-in -1 and strawberries from Baguio. Afterwards, I did all my household chores: wash all my clothes, blankets and even pillows, to be stored cleanly in my cabinet for my next visit in June 2011.

My itinerary for the day is to get my OEC (overseas employment certificate) and have my first fitting of my  wedding gown by Carmen Lazaro.

My friend (Dr. tintin), accompanied me on that day. She just came from her 24-hour duty  straight from Pampanga. We met at Trinoma and had our lunch at Max’s. We had kare-kare and pinaputok na tiyan ng bangus.:-))

We rode a taxi going to LRT Monumento. From there, we went down at Vito Cruz station and rode a pedicab.

What I like about  Carmen Lazaro Couture is that they have an online fitting of gowns just in case I wasn’t able to go home (Carmen Lazaro Brides International). We can talk via skype or YM and they can send to me the fitting kit in Malaysia.

These are the designs I dreamed of from  Carmen Lazaro website :

This is another design that I like especially the pleated skirt…:-))

We talked about the design I like. I am so excited to see it in June for my second fitting.:-)) (And also, the reality of undergoing a rigid/ flexible (?) diet has sinked in my mind!).

After  the fitting, we went to Al Manaff International Manpower Corporation where I got my OEC.

In front of the Vareb Mansion where our agency is located,  is a store of Philippine Handicrafts.

I decided to try a Filipiniana and I chose a hot pink  Maria Clara type one. I bought it for P 3,500 and it is cheaper as compared to Kultura Filipino dresses where prices range from P5,000-12,000.

We had our merienda at Chowking. I had only my Naicha drink. (diet kuno…) This reminds me of my favorite Authentic-3-layer-tea drink at INDOCAFE resto in front of our condo in Vista Perdana.:-))

I stayed at SM North for a while and have a grocery of the things I’ll bring in Malaysia. All the sinigang mix; Mama Sita’s kare-kare; menudo, pinapaitan; Reno liver spread; Mackerel sardines; Ludy’s salabat; Eden cheese, Purefoods hotdog, name it, I got it.:-)) (Call it Anna’s Sari-sari store! hehehe…)

I had my dinner with my friends: Malou (my housemate), Daisy (my officemate way back in Marine Science Institute, UP Diliman , before I entered medicine), Myla (my kababayan, kapitbahay and schoolmate during college days in  UPLB, who is now having 3rd year residency in Surgery).

We ate at Gerry’s Grill: sinigang na baboy; crispy tadyang and bulanglang na bangus.

After the hearty meal which I’m sure I will miss…we parted ways. Only a day is left for me to stay…
